Susan Selby holds a Master of Science in Education from Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Iowa State University. When Susan is not spending time with her family, she is a program consultant for the Iowa Department of Education specializing in federal programming with a focus on family and community engagement.
Susan is Mom to Jack, a 25-weeker born in 2006, and Thomas, a 28-weeker born in 2009. Both deliveries were triggered by HELLP Syndrome, a rare and severe form of preeclampsia. Jack and Thomas were fortunate to have had the expert care of the outstanding medical staff of Mercy Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Des Moines, Iowa.
