Meet Mara Tesler Stein, Psy.D.


Mara Tesler Stein, Psy.D., PMH-C is a clinical psychologist in private practice specializing in the emotional aspects of perinatal trauma, & relationship-based & developmentally supportive care to babies & families. She presents internationally on these topics & consults to health care providers & hospitals, guiding their efforts to improve the level of psychological support and care to families during and subsequent to perinatal crisis. She is the co-author of Parenting Your Premature Baby and Child: The Emotional Journey (Fulcrum, 2004) & Intensive Parenting: Surviving the Journey Through the NICU (Fulcrum, 2013). Dr. Stein is a certified EMDR therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant & EMDRIA Approved Trainer for the Institute for Creative Mindfulness where she is on faculty. She is also certified in Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy, is a Gottman Certified Therapist, & continues to pursue training in Clinical Hypnosis and Ego-State therapies. Dr. Stein is mom to twin girls born 10-weeks early.
