Jennifer Canvasser (CA), founder and director of the NEC Society, is a macro-practice perinatal social worker, with over a decade of experience in nonprofit organizations. Jennifer's son Micah developed NEC and died from complications of the disease when he was 11 months old. Jennifer’s commitment to improved outcomes for fragile infants and patient-centered outcomes research is demonstrated through her leadership as well as her ability to build an international team of incredibly committed, diverse stakeholders. Jennifer completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA and earned her master's degree in social work with an emphasis on community organizing from the University of Southern California.
